VALPRO - company of the year 2024 of Valmiera region
On November 8, the "Valmiera County Annual Award in Entrepreneurship 2024" award ceremony took place. In the "Valmiera" concert hall, businessmen of the Valmiera region gathered together to celebrate the holiday of entrepreneurship, to honor and be proud of their, cooperation partners' and competitors' achievements. SIA "VALPRO" became the company of the year 2024 of Valmiera region.
The "Valmiera County Annual Entrepreneurship Award" is presented for the third time this year. Valmiera region wants to highlight, praise and honor entrepreneurs who have made a significant contribution to the development of the region with their work and have shown good business results. In order to ensure an objective selection of laureates, the evaluation and selection process was carried out on the basis of objective data indicators of companies, as well as recommendations provided by cooperation organizations. Criteria were set that included the companies' financial performance, growth trends, sustainability practices and social responsibility. This data helped to assess the success of the companies and their contribution to the regional economy. The collected results were evaluated and approved by a specially created Evaluation Commission approved by the Valmiera County Council.
Jānis Baiks, Chairman of the Valmiera County Municipal Council: "In the field of business, we have something to be proud of! These are Valmiera region companies that have made a significant contribution to the development of Valmiera region and have shown good business results. These are companies that serve as an inspiration to other existing and potential entrepreneurs. Smart experience, many years of business temper, youth madness and creativity met on one stage. But all together - creators of the present and future prosperity of Valmiera region and Latvia."
Companies were honored in 14 nominations. In each nomination, the winner received a special award designed by an artist and made in Valmiera region, and two more companies in each nomination (except for the company of the year category) received an honorary certificate.

- Company of the year: SIA "VALPRO".
- Exporter of the year : winner SIA "Bitus Latvia", honorable mentions SIA "Klasmann-Deilmann Latvia" and cooperative society "VAKS".
- Investment of the year : winner SIA "Defence Partnership Latvia", honorable mentions SIA "Daiļrade koks" and SIA "Rūjienas saldējus".
- Sustainability of the year : winner SIA "4 Plus", honorable mentions SIA "Valmieras enerģija" and VSIA "Valmieras drāmas teataris".
- Tax payer of the year: winner SIA "Woltec", honorable mentions SIA "Valmiermuižas alus" and SIA "VALPRO".
- Landlord of the year : SIA "Pērles AAJ", honorable mentions SIA "Lauksalaca" and SIA "Naukšēni".
- Dealer of the year : winner of SIA "Liepkalni", honorable mentions of SIA "Mūsu Auto Valmiera" and SIA "Meža enerģija".
- Service provider of the year: winner SIA "Vidzemes veterinārais serviss", honorable mentions SIA "Vidzemes slimnīca" and SIA "Sanat".
- Builder of the year : winner SIA "Aimasa", honorable mentions SIA "Sanart" and SIA "Sidlu ceļi".
- Forest owner of the year : winner of SIA "Bono", honorable mentions of SIA "Ecomark" and SIA "Rostes".
- Startup of the year: winner SIA "Mira Motion Latvia", honorable mentions SIA "Medest" and SIA "Sawmill machinery".
- Educational company of the year: winner of SMU "E-Crot" (Valmiera technical school), honorable mentions of SMU "Cubelex" (Valmiera technical school) and SMU "Golden Cloud" (Valmiera high school of design and art).
- Cooperation of the year with educational institutions: winner AS "Valmieras stikla šciedra", honorable mentions SIA "VALPRO" and SIA "Re Media" (ReTV).
- Small producer of the year : winner SIA “Laux”, honorable mentions Santa Āre (“Mūsdienu virtulis”) and SIA “J-Parks”.
Laureate of the "Company of the Year" nomination, chairman of the board of SIA "VALPRO" Aivars Flemings: "For decades, Valmiera region has been famous for capable and smart entrepreneurs. SIA "VALPRO" works for tomorrow, developing a new business area in Valmiermuiž, creating solar parks and introducing new products. We would like to thank all cooperation partners and, of course, the employees of SIA "VALPRO". We wish all residents of Latvia and people of Valmiera to be active, cooperate and communicate with each other, so that together we can achieve the goal - a prosperous country and a prosperous Europe!"
Special awards were presented in cooperation with business support organizations. The Altum special prize of the development financial institution was awarded to SIA "WoodHeart", the Latvian Investment and Development Agency highlighted SIA "Exonicus R&D", and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Latvia thanked Aivars Flemings (SIA "VALPRO"), Jurģis Ābele (SIA "VRPB" ) to Henrijs Barvikis (SIA "Etepek") and Edgars Atlācis (SIA "Sworn attorneys' office "Atlācis un partneri""). The Valmiera business club expressed appreciation to Edgars Atlāci for the reconstruction of the building at Rīgas street 13, Valmiera.
President of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Aigars Rostovskis graced the solemn award ceremony with his presence, dedicating words of appreciation to businessmen, the municipality and residents and highlighting that Valmiera region is a successful and energetic place to live and develop business.
The "Valmiera Region Business Award of the Year" is planned to be presented every year in the future, establishing an important tradition of honoring the entrepreneurs of Valmiera Region.
