Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Latvia Noor Dzuma visited Valmiera and VALPRO for the first time

On May 21, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Latvia, HE Noora Juma , visited Valmiera .

HE Nur Džumas began her duties in Latvia in August last year and visited Valmiera for the first time, therefore the Ambassador admitted that she had learned a lot of new and interesting things about the Valmiera region during the presentation, and already at the beginning of the visit she mentioned that she would like to return to the Valmiera region again, because one day is not enough to get to know and see everything that was told about. The Ambassador also praised the venue of the presentation – the old pharmacy building on the territory of Valmiera Castle, which is one of the oldest wooden buildings built in the cross-pitch technique in Latvia.

As part of the visit, the Ambassador, together with the Chairman of the Valmiera Regional Municipality Council, Jānis Baikas, went on a tour of Valmiera - they visited the Sports and Active Recreation Park "Mežs", the upcoming low-rent houses, the Valmiera Industrial and Export Park, and the Valmiera Industrial Park.

While visiting the DARE co-creation workshop, the Ambassador had the opportunity to make a commemorative souvenir, while the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Sciences, Professor Kārlis Krēsliņš, introduced Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences – the study opportunities offered and the multimedia laboratory. HE Nūra Džuma also visited the Valmiera Integrated Library.

At one of the oldest and largest metal processing companies in Latvia – SIA “VALPRO”, the Ambassador had the opportunity to look into the production process and, in a conversation with the Chairman of the Board of SIA “VALPRO”, learn more about the company’s operations and development plans. It should be noted that the United Arab Emirates is one of the countries to which the fuel cans produced by the company are exported.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Exhibition Hall of the Valmiera Museum, where the exhibition of textile artist Elīna Lūsis-Grīnberga is located, and a tour of the award-winning and internationally acclaimed exhibition “de Woldemer”.

In her farewell speech, HE Nur Dzuma expressed her commitment to return to Valmiera region to develop cooperation in the fields of business, culture, and higher education.
