To support the development of practical skills in future specialists, VALPRO offers students the opportunity to gain experience across various departments. Rihards Demiters, currently studying at Valmiera Technical School in a one-year professional education program “Welder in Mechanized Equipment in Active Gas Environment (MAG/135)”, shares his internship experience at VALPRO. “My CV is quite long and chaotic – I’ve done a lot of different things,” Rihards says when asked to tell a little about himself. “I was at a point in life when I was looking for something new. I didn’t want to work in an office and started exploring other opportunities. I noticed that Valmiera Technical School offered a new one-year welding program. I saw it as a great chance to gain a new qualification level,” he continues. 

 

“I learned about the internship opportunity through Facebook. I saw a post about the program and the chance to receive a scholarship. I knew that VALPRO is one of the leading internship providers in welding, so it was clear to me that I wanted to do my internship here,” Rihards adds. As a scholarship recipient, Rihards receives financial support during his studies, a guaranteed internship at VALPRO, and employment for at least one year after graduation. When asked if the scholarship conditions influenced his decision, he replied: “The contract after the internship really pleased me because it guarantees a job for at least a year.” 

 

“I am already working in VALPRO’s production, seeing the processes firsthand, and I am pleasantly surprised by the responsive and helpful colleagues. Whenever challenges arise, I always get support and assistance. After all, we are all working towards the same goal,” Rihards adds.
