In the beginning of year 2013 the agreement among Environment Protection and Regional Development Ministry of Latvia, “Latvian Environment Investment Fund” Ltd. and “VALPRO” Ltd. for         implementation of greenhouse gas emission reduction project was signed.

At the moment in VALPRO production hall No.2 average 125,1 MWh electricity losses are caused by out dated transformer and related electricity lines. Production hall is seen as Energo inefficient – long seam welding equipment during a year spends average 51,7 MWh of energy.

As a result of reconstruction of internal electricity lines and replacement of welding equipment electrical energy losses will drop average by 90% and during one year saving 157,5 MWh energy, which is equivalent to 62,5 t greenhouse gas emission reduction.

Production equipment implementation planned in October, 2013.

Planned efficiency results – 2,79 kgCO2/LVL per year.

Total Project costs – 109 505 LVL

Eligible costs – 49 841.3 LVL

Support intensity – 45%
