Established Latvian Security and defence industry federation – VALPRO Ltd. takes place in the senate

On Thursday, March 7th in Riga Latvian Security and defence industry federation has been established. Ammunition manufacturing company DDupleks board member Agris Dundurs was approved as a federation senate chairman and as a chairman of the Federation board – a former advisor to the President Elina Egle.

Federation senatne will be governed by VALPRO, Latvian Railway (LDz) Concern, Lattelecom, Riga Technical University, Datakom, Latvijas Mobilais Telefons and Felix. Representative of Komerccentrs Dati Grupa Aldis Gulbis was voted for senate vice chairman position.

Founders of Federation consider that Latvian industry should increase amount of supplied goods and services to security and defence institutions in Europe, NATO and ANO. Federation will support and provide more efficient and stabile communication and experience exchange among Latvian, EU and international companies and organizations.

Federation founders believe that coordinated and joint industry actions will support business and research development, meanwhile providing more jobs to local communities. Founders state that Federation is established to serve as joint and stabile partner in negotiations with state institutions and international organizations and will provide objective and transparent industry standpoint and policies, that way avoiding any possibility of interest conflict or corruption.

Founders hope that in the future competitiveness of Latvian companies within national and international security and defence procurements will improve.
