SIA VALPRO Inspection Department is an independent structural unit of SIA VALPRO, which performs reassessment of conformity for gas cylinders and inspection of gas cylinders, cylinder bundles. The Inspection Department has been inspecting gas cylinders since 2006. In 2022 SIA VALPRO Inspection Department has expanded by launching periodic inspection services for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders.
High pressure cylinders |
Aluminum 0,6 liter CO2 gas cylinders |
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders |
||
High pressure seamless steel, aluminium and composite cylinders. Intended for industrial, medical and food gases. Hydraulic pressure is used for testing. 0,5-150 liter |
TESTED WITH ULTRASONIC METHOD (UT) 0,6 liter |
Steel, Aluminum, Composite material. 2-33 kilograms |
VISUAL INSPECTION |
SURFACE TREATMENT |
|
Visual surface inspection of the cylinder outside and inside. Inspection of gas cylinder’s neck/shoulder and thread. PRESSURE TESTING OF GAS CYLINDER AND INSIDE DRYING Hydraulic pressure testing of gas cylinder (up to 450 bar) Inspection of cylinder inside after drying. |
SHOT BLASTNG Shot blasting is used to prepare surface of gas cylinder before painting. POWDER COATING Powder coating is used to protect steel gas cylinder surface from environmental exposure and corrosion. WET PAINTING Wet painting is used to protect aluminium gas cylinder surface from environmental exposure and corrosion , as well as for cylinder shoulder painting in different colours, to identify gas type. Ultrasonic examination (UT)
Ultrasonic testing is an approved alternative to pressure testing. |

REASSESSMENT OF CONFORMITY |
REPORTS & Marking |
|
The reassessment of the conformity of existing gas cylinders in accordance with the requirements of TPED (European Directive 2010/35/EU).
The owner or operator make available the information regarding the transportable pressure equipment which enables that body to identify the equipment precisely (origin, design rules, and for acetylene cylinders also details of the porous material). Inspection body assess whether the transportable pressure equipment affords at least the same degree of safety as the transportable pressure equipment referred to in the Annexes to Directive 2008/68/EC.If the results of the documentation assessment are satisfactory, the transportable pressure equipment shall be subject to the periodic inspection provided for in the Annexes to Directive 2008/68/EC. If the requirements of that periodic inspection are met the „π” marking shall be applied. |
REPORTS
Issue of conformity certificate and inspection protocol. During process of each operation the gas cylinder is evaluated and tested, in case of non-conformity the gas cylinder is rejected for future usage. Marking After successful inspection each cylinder are marked with data to identify data of periodic inspection and inspection body who made inspection. |
Since 2010, LATAK (Latvian National Accreditation Bureau) has issued an Accreditation Certificate which confirms that SIA VALPRO Inspection Department complies with the requirements of the standard LVS EN ISO / IEC 17020 and is competent to perform inspection of transportable pressure equipment as a type A inspection body.
ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE |
European Commission has been notified SIA VALPRO Inspection Department as a Notified Body in accordance with the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive 2010/35/EU and included in the common database of notified bodies - NANDO with the number NB2243.
