On Wednesday, March 19th VALPRO Ltd. chairman of the board Aivars Flemings shared company’s experience within experts’ and opinion leaders’ discussion organized by Swedbank AS and Industrial energy efficiency cluster.
A.Flemings introduced discussion participants and visitors with company’s principles and practises to increase energy efficiency, provided insight of implemented KPFI projects, energy procurement, as well as importance of internal organization culture to promote and implement changes.
Discussion included topics of energy capacity of industries in Latvia, main obstacles and solutions in realm of industrial energy efficiency in Latvia, required support for realms with high energy capacity and possible scenarios of consumption reduction.
Industry is the third largest energy consumer in Latvia using approximately 18% of total state consumed energy. Experts believe that opportunities of energy consumption reduction among Latvian companies are not obtained fully – companies are not informed about energy efficiency aspects, also state support and surveillance mechanisms are lacking. To predict possible energy consumption reduction scenarios and define energy efficiency activities influence on state economics Industrial energy efficiency cluster carried out research “Research of industrial efficiency and possible solution definition of energy efficiency increase in manufactures and service sectors”.
